Useful Book on Map Collecting Available Online

Antique Maps - A Collector's GuideDavid Barrister has made his book Antique Maps – A Collector’s Handbook available online. Written together with co-author Carl Moreland, the book includes sections on map making (including an article that some readers may be familiar with: “‘Here be Dragons..’ Myths and Legends on Old Maps”,) map makers of various countries, and map collecting within historical context. The online edition is illustrated, and the authors ensure the reader that they, “…carefully chose a selection of maps which, with the exception of about six, had been available to collectors within the previous few years.”

I am looking forward to reading as much of the book as possible over the next little while. At first glance, it looks fairly accessible and useful for a novice map collector.
